Board-Certified Internal Medicine
Dr. Schwartzman completed his residency program at Franklin Square Hospital Center, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. He and his wife Beverly chose Gilmer County as their home in 1989.
Dr. Schwartzman is a recipient of the American Medical Association's continuing medical education award. He holds the designation of Certified Medical Director (C.M.D.) and is also a Registered Medical Manager (R.M.M.) and a Medical Review Officer (M.R.O.). Dr. Schwartzman currently serves as the medical director for Amedisys Home Health Services, He also serves on the board of Georgia Medical Directors' Association.
Dr. Schwartzman maintains hospital privileges at Piedmont Mountainside Medical Center in Jasper and Fannin Regional Medical Center in Fannin County.
Laurel Medical Center is committed to community service. Dr. Schwartzman has served as a board member for The American Heart Association and as a member of the Lions' Club. Dr. Schwartzman was instrumental in establishing Gilmer County's Soccer Program and he coached a co-ed team in 1999.

Dr. Kent graduated Cum Laude, earning her a Bachelor's degree from Oglethorpe University and her Medical Doctoral degree from Mercer University School of Medicine, in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Kent completed her residency in Family Practice at Greenville Memorial Hospital, in Greenville, South Carolina.
She is a member of the American Medical Association and the Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Kent is a recipient of the "Outstanding Family Physician" award and also the "J.W. Clatworthy Memorial Award".
Dr. Kent was born and raised in Georgia and lives in Ellijay. She and her husband, Lee, have two sons, Lee III and Nicholas. The family is very active in the community.
David Sprinkle-PAC, Physician's Assistant
Join us in welcoming David Sprinkle to the practice. David is a graduate of Emory University with more than 10 years of experience as a physician's assistant.
David is currently taking new patients. He sees children to Geriatrics and everything in between. David also enjoys performing sutures and is available for urgent care visits.
